HXD Series of Heated Dry Cabinets

The HXD Series is XDry'’'s newest addition to our desiccant dry cabinet offering. These are heated dry cabinets featuring superior construction and design components. All of these models feature insulated walls, double-pane insulated glass windows, and an integrated heating system that provides a constant around-the-clock low bake temperature of a maximum 40°C. as specified in IPC J-STD-033D

We added heating to our award-winning cabinet design to provide users with a low-temperature bake option as specified in IPC J-STD-033D in order to reset the floor life clock of MSD components. This adds to the already perfectly maintained dry storage environment that the IPC considers to be as efficient as storage in a dry pack, which provides unlimited shelf life.

Of course, the HXD Heated Series dry cabinets still enjoy the 100% self-contained, self-maintained design for which our cabinets are known. Requiring no resources other than an electrical connection and no user interaction, XDry cabinets provide constant and consistent ULTRA-low levels of humidity for many years.

All of the same standard features that are available in our other cabinet models are also present in these heated dry cabinets:

  • An industrial dryer design capable of providing an ultra-low 1%
  • Stainless steel shelves
  • ESD-safe design and ESD painted cabinet surfaces to comply with IEC 61340-5-1
  • A standard audible humidity alarm
  • An alarm light tower
  • A wrist strap connection
  • Control panel lockout
  • Offset / calibration procedure
  • Lockable doors
  • A variety of field retrofittable options
  • IEC 61340-5-1 compliance

These heated dry cabinets use fans to circulate the air in the cabinet through industrial grade dryers, providing airborne moisture to be captured by the highly absorbent synthetic desiccant. This desiccates the internal environment quickly while allowing users to set the desired desiccated humidity level from ambient all the way down to 1.0%RH in increments of 0.1% RH via the digital control panel located on the front of the cabinet.

The control panel doubles as a constant readout of both internal RH and temperature levels. It also acts as the interface for the programming of the user set dehumidification and temperature levels, the purge duration of the optional Nitrogen system, the trigger point of the integrated humidity alarm that is configured as standard on all XDry cabinets, and the automatic calibration / offset procedure. The control panel also can be locked to prevent unwanted or unintended input or adjustment.

HXD Series of dry cabinets are not only ideal for the safe storage of moisture-sensitive devices (MSD) as well as for resetting the floor life clock by using the integrated low-temperature bake process, but also for preserving and preparing partially assembled electronic assemblies prior to rework or while placing sensitive devices.
